Our History

The JHMCS product line evolved into what is considered the best, field-proven technology available for providing pilots with intelligent vision. For over 23 years, we have had the leading combat-proven helmet-mounted display for fixed-wing aircraft, including F/A-18, F-15, and the F-16. Our strong partnership mindset serves us well as we continue to guide our new product line through complete integration, testing and production, and several new aircraft.

The JHMCS product line is part of Elbit Systems of America, a full-service electronics supplier, specializing in sophisticated hardware and software solutions for upgrade, integration and enhancement projects. ESA defense programs cover fixed and rotary wing aircraft, ground vehicles, naval vessels, trainers and simulators, as well as command, control and communication systems. ESA’s strengths include design, development, production, and life-cycle support for innovative electronic systems. ESA is a fully accredited U.S. Department of Defense suppler. The JHMCS product line was formally managed by a joint venture partnership formed in 1996 by Elbit Systems of America and Kaiser Electronics. The partnership was named Vision Systems International, LLC (VSI), and was located in California’s Silicon Valley. VSI provided years of industry leadership in innovation and technical development for helmet mounted display systems. VSI pioneered the “look and shoot” cueing system—from concept to reality and has provided nearly 6600 JHMCS systems world-wide.
